Default Need some help.

Ok. Well...

I Just recently bought Factions (Don't have prophecies.)

I have 1 lvl 20 Ranger\Ritualist and hes explored about 40 percent of the game and has 75+ hours already and has some decent items.

Buttt..

It seems like prophecies is a much better game.

If I were to get Prophecies, and link the 2, would i be able to use my Ranger in Prophecies? Should I just start a new Char in Prophecies. If so, what should i make him?

Thanks for any help.

I know you can link prophecies to a new factions account, so i see no reason it cannot be the other way around, as i have also seen people go back and forth and im sure they arent all vets.. Id go over to tyria, but also start a new char there. I like presearing much better than shing jea.

Yea, your Ranger can go to Prophecies.

And yes, starting a new char in Prophecies will help you understand the storyline.

A Monk is always suggested, makes everything easier.

Yea, Ever since ive learned a little about the game(s) Ive wanted some sort of monk.

Either a Monk/Something, or a Warrior/Monk.

Suggestions?

And btw, Ill probably buy prophecies too, thanks. I guess it will be alright to start a new char in Prophecies anyways.

You will probably like Prophecies a lot more than Factions. I know I do.

Prophecies is a lot longer, and it doesn't make you feel like you're being rushed through the game as fast as can be. Pre Sear is pretty nice. I would make a Prophecies character so you can have more fun and experience Pre. Also I would advise to make a W/Mo or Mo/X or E/Mo.

1 Thing about Factions I've really been kinda annoyed about is this whole gloomy plagueborn crap. I mean, the game is making me depressed its so depressing. I liked it better at shing jea island othe then all this kaineng area stuff. i feel like im in a horror movie.

Why try to limit a player's starting character to those three choices?

An old joke reminds me of the Prophecies vs. Factions comparison.

This dude dies and goes to hell. A demon greets him and tells him he has three choices on how he'll spend the rest of eternity, and they are behind these three doors. When he opens the first door, it's pitch black and people are screaming. He closes it and opens the second door. Again, people are screaming, but this time there are explosions and gunfire. He quickly closes that door and opens the third. Inside, he sees a bunch of people standing waist deep in crap, and they're drinking coffee. He tells the demon he chooses this room and the demon ushers him in and hands him some coffee.

Basically, that third room represents Prophecies. Not the greatest game, but definitely better than all the other crap out there when it came out.

Anyhow, five minutes pass and the demon blows a whistle and shouts, "Ok, coffee break is over! Back on your heads!"

That's Factions.

I strongly recommend Prophecies. To me it was the better chapter, and the next chapter should be as good since it's the same crew who made Prophecies. And yes, your Factions toon can go back and forth when you merge the accounts.

Ok, 1 More Question.

If I get Prophecies, merge the 2, and am able to bring my Factions Char over to Prophecies, Where will he be in Prophecies? Pre-Searing? Post-Searing? Anywhere Random?

you will not be in pre-searing, you will be in the main game. You will start in a large town Lions Arch (about the equivalent of Kaineng)

So I should keep my Ranger, and, since everyone is talking about how wonderful Presearing and all that is, I'll make another Char (Only have my one ranger anyways, wanna try something else out) And play him thru All the Stuff I have missed.

Ok, My Questions are answered. Thanks everyone.
